visual codes 

-camera switches between both high and low key lighting because inside the ship the camera is using high key lighting to show its inside and bright where as outside it uses low key lighting to show that it is outside and is dark

- switches camera angle a lot and will switch between showing wide angle shots of the boat and lots of people and then switch to close ups of just a few people in more detail

- the expresion on the characters faces is shown to make it look like their is more fear their and whats happening is terrifying

technical codes

-camera will change to different areas and people to create a dramatic and fast feeling that he ship is sinking

-mid shot of jack and rose during the ships sinking to show that they are the main characters in the scene

-extreme long shots of the boat to show just how many people are on the boat and whats happening

audio codes

- the film at this point has some quite sad music to show that its a sad point in the film

-  their is the no diagetic sound coming from the music that is put over the film to create the sad atmosphere that is put their

- then their is the diagetic sound of the people scramming and the water rushing over the ship and the ships braking apart
